PTO Information

What is the PTO?

The ISDenver PTO brings the school community together through family events, social gatherings and parent education opportunities. PTO events such as the Student Talent Show, the World Tea Fair and the International Bash showcase the unique character of our school. PTO-led Room Parents serve as the primary link among parents, teachers, and staff and help to plan classroom activities and social events. Several times a year, the PTO’s Morning Minglings gives parents the chance to linger over coffee, build friendships and connect with ISD staff and PTO leaders. Through the PTO’s Parenting Education initiative, guest speakers address parenting challenges – everything from internet safety to the benefits of developing a bilingual brain. And there’s so much more.

Who is the PTO?

All parents and guardians of a student-in-good standing at ISDenver are automatically invited members of the PTO and are encouraged to attend monthly meetings.

The PTO is governed by the current year’s Executive Committee.

Get Involved

Becoming involved in the PTO is a great way to earn work bond hours, but there’s a much greater benefit to be realized. Research shows that students with parents who are involved in the school community are more likely to:

  • Earn higher grades and test scores, and enroll in higher-level programs
  • Attend school regularly
  • Have better social skills, show improved behavior, and adapt well to school
  • Graduate and go on to postsecondary education programs

Want to help strengthen our school community and make a positive impact on your child’s education? Take a look through our current committee list and find something that suits your interests, abilities and schedule. Then sign up here, or contact a committee chair or one of this year’s PTO officers for more information or to volunteer!
