Physical Education

Taught in our target languages, our Physical Education and Health programs use international sports, games, and best practices from around the world for our students to continue to build their global perspective.

At IS Denver we believe that physical education and health are part of a well-rounded learning experience. Our students engage in a comprehensive P.E. curriculum, gaining lifelong lessons of the value of competition, perseverance and teamwork both in and out of class. In our preschool through 5th grade classes, our students have physical education with a teacher from China, France or Spain who leads the class in their target language. In these classes our students are introduced to international sports and games, giving them an even broader global perspective on physical education and athletic culture around the world.

In Grades 6-8, students begin their MYP PE & Health Program in English. Students gain further skills and exposure in our Athletics program, and teams compete with other schools in sports like track, cross country, basketball and ultimate frisbee.
