Welcome to our Summer Learning Website!
Please feel free to peruse these resources we are offering and engage in the ones that make sense for your family. None of these are required, but all of these will support learning through the summer!
ECE and Primary School Student Resources
Recommended math activities, reading lists, applications, websites, platforms, and videos to enrich your child's learning throughout the summer, as well as their social-emotional health.
English
Falling in love with reading develops lifelong readers. Children need time to read for enjoyment, and summer is an optimal time to engage our students in reading for pleasure. With this in mind, our team of teachers, from all languages, put together book recommendations for our students. Readers, at all ages, should be able to identify books that catch their interest and meet their reading level!
Five questions for parents to use with a student's book of choice: We know that when students have agency in choosing their book they will be more engaged in the pursuit of reading.
- What is your favorite character in the story and why?
- How would you change the ending of the story?
- What did you learn from the story? What is the theme? (Fiction or Non Fiction)
- What do you still want to know after reading this book? (Nonfiction)
- How do you see yourself reflected in this book or see someone else in this book? (Mirrors and Windows)

Math
The International School of Denver middle school math curriculum is designed to challenge all students, whether they are coming from the ISDenver Upper Primary school or from other schools.
- We offer levels that are enriching and challenging for all learners, regardless of where they are on their mathematics journey.
- All ISDenver math students are engaged in a rigorous, integrated curriculum and rewarded for their efforts by becoming better mathematicians and having a strong sense of accomplishment.
- The Accelerated track is meant to challenge our most gifted math students. Students completing our Accelerated track typically begin high school in Algebra II. ISDenver Extended is an extension of our ISDenver math program. Both ISDenver Extended and the ISDenver Accelerated tracks are challenging and require students to have ownership of their learning and to do additional work outside of the classroom.
