Community Events

Our community rocks! ISDenver is proud to host several unique events that celebrate our multicultural community, organized by both the school as well as parent volunteers with the Dragon Parent Association.

INTERNATIONAL HARVEST FESTIVAL

Each year, our target language programs - French, Spanish and Mandarin - each host a separate all-day festival and/or performance. These events are a great chance for students of all ages to immerse themselves in special performances honoring their program's culture and traditions - from the colorful dragon parade at our annual Chinese New Year festival, to a French performance of Robin Hood and a Spanish themed Cirque Mundial. These festivals are open to our community, and all students across all programs attend as part of their global and intercultural learning experience at ISDenver.

CELEBRATIONS OF LEARNING

Celebrations of Learning are powerful opportunities for students to make their learning public and gain confidence by presenting it to an authentic audience: their family and friends! A culmination of a student's learning journey through a Unit of Inquiry, students embrace the different IB learner profile traits and reflect on their learning by communicating what they are inquiring about and now understand. These are often combined with grade level concerts and art displays, showcasing the many talents of our students!

ANNUAL FUNDRAISING GALA

The annual Gala celebration is ISDenver’s most popular/anticipated event of the year. It represents our largest single day fundraising event of the school year. With a new, fun theme each year, our parents, supporters, families, faculty and staff enjoy a night of fun, fine dining, dancing, live and silent auctions plus the contagious paddle raiser that concludes the evening with a frenzy of bidding. Past galas have funded a new STEAM-focused facility on campus, a new compressed natural gas school bus, expanded academic facilities, updated technology and program enhancements.

VIVA EL DRAGÓN

Our end-of-year community celebration, combined with our 5th Graders Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition, Middle School Art Showcase, and our 8th Graders Capstone Project is the perfect way to cap off an extraordinary school year. With international cuisine, entertainment, games and more, this event encapsulates the uniqueness of our multicultural community - and is full of fun for kids and parents alike!
