In addition to many annual, school-wide and community events, ISDenver is proud to host several unique events that celebrate our multicultural community.
- NIGHT OF THE TALES
- LANGUAGE PROGRAM FESTIVALS
- WORLD TEA FAIR
- ANNUAL FUNDRAISING GALA
- INTERNATIONAL BASH
Join the ISDenver community for an evening of dramatic and theatrical storytelling with a cultural/bilingual twist. Our annual Night of the Tales is inspired by a Spanish tradition that celebrates the beginning of each school year. Our teachers perform favorite children’s stories and songs in English, French, Mandarin and Spanish. ISDenver students dress as their favorite literary character and join their parents on picnic blankets with hot chocolate and apple cider as we gather for this relaxed and casual fall event.
Each year, our target language programs - French, Spanish and Mandarin - each host a separate all-day festival and/or performance. These events are a great chance for students of all ages to immerse themselves in special performances honoring their program's culture and traditions - from the colorful dragon parade at our annual Chinese New Year festival, to a French performance of Robin Hood and a Spanish themed Cirque Mundial. These festivals are open to our community, and all students across all programs attend as part of their global and intercultural learning experience at ISDenver.
For 16 years, this annual cultural event features traditional teas and treats from over a dozen different countries! Come explore the world through tea with ISDenver. This distinctive international event is open to the public and fun for the whole family. You can sample teas, coffees, hot chocolate and authentic treats while learning the serving rituals from countries such as Belarus, China, England, France, India, Lebanon, Japan, Morocco, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan and Thailand.
The annual Gala celebration is ISDenver’s most popular/anticipated event of the year. It represents our largest single day fundraising event of the school year. With a new, fun theme each year, our parents, supporters, families, faculty and staff enjoy a night of fun, fine dining, dancing, live and silent auctions plus the contagious paddle raiser that concludes the evening with a frenzy of bidding. With a sold-out crowd of over 350 and a record-breaking night, the 2016 Gala raised over $450,000 and funded a new playground and the design and construction of the Peacekeeper building into STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) facilities. Past galas have funded a new compressed natural gas school bus, expanded academic facilities, updated technology and program enhancements.
Our International Bash is a festive end-of-year carnival-style event that attracts more than 3,500 guests! Imagine an outdoor celebration with games, activities, face painting, a cultural village, international-themed food trucks, student performances and plenty of fun for the whole family. The Bash is one of the largest international festivals in the Denver metro area. Everyone is welcome to join our end-of-year celebration of our globally-minded community.
