Denver PRIDE 5K June 24! 4 things you need to know.
Yes, this Admissions Blog Post is about a road race. No, I won’t be running in it. (Only because I don’t run on principle!) But here is why the Denver PRIDE 5K is important and what you need to know:
First, it is June 24, 2023. Mark your calendar!
For the last five years, the International School of Denver has been the ONLY SCHOOL to sponsor the PRIDE 5K. So, I’m issuing a challenge to all my colleagues creeping on this post from other schools: Join us! The world needs more allies, especially in schools.
ISDenver Dragons, join our race team. Our team gets bigger each year. Run, jog, walk, mosey, or roll and support an amazing cause to stand with the LGBTQ community. Funds raised support the amazing work the Center on Colfax is doing to provide programs and services to the LGBTQ community in Colorado. If you are setting a resolution for 2023 to participate in a road race, this is your chance!
Prospective families, this is who we are. We are proud to be allies as we create a more compassionate world one student and one step at a time.

One of the top questions we hear from prospective families is what opportunities are available for parent involvement. We tapped an expert, the Parent Chair of Community Engagement of our parent association, Christina Brown, to get her perspective.
ISDenver implemented Project Lead The Way (PLTW) as a comprehensive strategy to enhance STEM education in the classroom. These activities aim to foster critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and collaborative skills. They also help students develop essential skills in data analysis, communication, and project management while promoting their familiarity with technology and the scientific method.
We are proud sponsors of the Denver PRIDE 5K. Join us in support of the Center on Colfax, ensuring that every member of the LGBTQ community has access to the programs and resources they need to live happy, healthy, and productive lives.
