Our Spanish Program: A Role Model for the ISA
In a letter received from the Embassy of Spain this summer, Dr. Jesús Fernández called the International School of Denver a "role model" for the International Spanish Academy (ISA) and specifically mentions the impeccable leadership of our Director of Spanish Program and Accreditation, Maria Rodriquez. The ISA - a network of 100 schools - is an important part of our partnership with Spain and the Spanish Embassy.
He writes, "ISDenver is definitely a role model in our ISA network, a hundred schools. around the country. We are honored to have your wonderful school onboard...
Let me highlight the importance that Ms. María Rodríguez has in this collaboration. The persons in my team that have worked with her in the different programs above mentioned speak highly of her as a really committed, hardworking, enthusiastic, and proactive leader. I have had the privilege of meeting her in a couple of conferences, and I cannot but totally agree in that perception. We consider her a true friend of the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain, and a major asset in our partnership with ISDenver and the state of Colorado."
Our Spanish Program comprises over half of our student body and truly speaks for itself. I like to call the program the best in world-class education enveloped in un abrazo muy fuerte. The letter from the embassy is a reminder of our commitment and outstanding leadership as we strive to live out our mission:
Our inclusive, globally minded community develops highly motivated and academically successful bilingual learners who are inter-culturally adept and make positive contributions in a complex world.
The letter also applauded our students, noting “ISDenver has excellent results in Spanish. By the end of 5th and 8th grades, students show a very good command of the language. There are even several 5th graders who got the B1 level of the European Framework of Reference, which shows, once again, the strength of the program.”
We'd love to show you our Spanish Program in action! Tours for the 2024-25 school year begin in September - sign up for a tour time here.
