Calling all Global Citizens! Inspire G8 Students at Capstone Symposium March 27.

Calling all Global Citizens! Inspire G8 Students at Capstone Symposium March 27.

ISDenver is seeking panelists for the G8 Capstone Symposium on Wednesday, March 27 at 1:00 PM. The second annual Symposium is a celebration of change-makers and global citizens, meant to inform and inspire alike.

What is Capstone?

Capstone is the Grade 8 culminating project that combines passions, interests, and languages to help students answer the question -  How will you make your mark as a global citizen?

  • Interdisciplinary unit of civics (Individuals & Societies), memoirs of change-makers (Language & Literature)  and global issues (Advanced Language Acquisition classes)
  • Help students create their definition of “global citizen”
  • Inspire students to be empathetic global citizens and positive change-makers

Students have the option to do their capstone project in their target language as part of earning their biliteracy certificate at graduation.

One way we launch into the Capstone home stretch is through a symposium of global citizens who share their story of what impact they’ve made and how they achieved it.

  • How did being internationally minded impact your path in life?
  • What advice do you have for 8th-grade students as they move forward in their academic careers and future endeavors?
  • If applicable, how has being bilingual impacted/empowered you?

The format is a 20-minute presentation with time for a 10-minute Q&A, repeated three times to a small group of students. Please complete this quick form to indicate your interest in participating!
