G4 and G5 students dazzle at Spring Artist Showcase

G4 and G5 students dazzle at Spring Artist Showcase

The G4 and G5 Celebration of Arts was a showcase of Music, Art, Design, Multimedia, and Poetry. Students started the celebration with a Pop Concert, led by Dr. Juliana Stoughton. They sang Shake it Off by Taylor Swift, Fight Song by Rachel Platten, and A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman. The performance featured student soloists, dancers, and speakers.

The Mary Louise Evans Building Media Center was transformed into gallery space and students presented their Art, Design, and Multimedia projects to families. Some of the student work on display included self portrait, sneaker design, and food truck concepts.

G4 students converted their classrooms into Parisian-style cafes, complete with checkered tablecloths, candlelight, and menus for an inspired poetry reading. Students presented their original works in both English and target language.

Often, I've been asked what sets the ISDenver experience apart and how it differs from other schools. Today, we had the perfect opportunity to showcase what we're truly about. We're not just an incredibly rigorous school that prepares students for middle and high school; we're fostering their growth and flourishing in all areas to become balanced individuals.

The arts were on full display today, alongside the concert and the poetry readings, demonstrating the holistic experience of our students. Through poetry, our students are advocating for social justice and embodying all the values we aim to instill in them. ISDenver is more than just a school; it's a cultural experience that shapes global citizens who advocate for the right causes using a positive medium.

-Mariza Mauffrey, Director of Upper Primary

The Celebration of Arts was made possible by Risa Machovec, Dr. Juliana Stoughton, Tracy Chang, Allison Johnson, G4 faculty, and so many others. Congratulations to our student musicians, artists, and poets!
