International School of Denver has attained candidacy for the IB Diploma Programme.
The International School of Denver (ISDenver) is making history once again! After 48 years of excellence in education, ISDenver is taking its commitment to global citizenship to the next level with the opening of its brand-new high school this fall.
Beginning with the inaugural 9th-grade class of the 2025-2026 school year, students will experience an education built on the foundation of global community, intercultural understanding, and ISDenver’s proven successful International Baccalaureate (IB) and bilingual educational model. This high school is designed to provide students with the academic rigor, leadership opportunities, and international perspective needed to thrive in an evolving world.
Adding to the excitement, ISDenver is a Candidate School* for the IB Diploma Programme. This step forward builds upon ISDenver as an established authorized IB World School for PreK-8 since Fall 2022, ensuring a seamless progression for students as they continue their IB journey into high school.**
One of the most exciting aspects of MYP grades 9–10 is the culminating Personal Project, which gives students the opportunity to showcase their skills, passions, and creativity by developing a product of their choice. It’s a powerful bridge to the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), as it reflects two of the program’s key pillars: student choice and academic rigor.
For our current PYP and MYP families at ISDenver, I’m especially excited about the continued opportunity for students to maintain academic rigor in their target language throughout high school. With the option to pursue the IB Bilingual Diploma, our students will be well-prepared to attend colleges and universities around the world—and to continue making a meaningful, global impact.
-Katie Williams, High School Director
This is more than just a school expansion—it’s a new era of education at ISDenver, where students are empowered to explore, lead, and succeed in a globally connected world.
