International School of Denver Launches Inspiring Women-Lifting-Up-Women Project
A casual conversation around the water cooler has transformed into an extraordinary initiative that is making waves both within and outside the gates of the International School of Denver. What began as an exchange of ideas between EdTech and Finance team members—Steven Lamb, Lizbeth Lucero, and Ariel Grayson—has blossomed into the all-school “Women Lifting Up Women” project, now featured on 9News.
An empowering book, created exclusively by women and for women, features curated quotes collected from the women of ISDenver. It is designed to inspire confidence and provide hope. Lamb’s wife and daughter, Rachel and Kahlan, brought their creative talents to the project, designing and compiling the quotes to produce this meaningful book. True to the spirit of collaboration, every element of the book was created using ISDenver tools like Canva and Book Creator.
This ongoing endeavor doesn’t stop here. The first collection of quotes is now available in EPUB format, making it compatible with Kindles, iPads, and other ebook readers. Alongside the digital book, striking six-foot banners showcasing contributed quotes are displayed throughout campus, across LP, UP, and MYP areas. The project is open for continued contributions, promising future editions even more uplifting content in the future.
The impact of this project extends beyond ISDenver. Two notable organizations—Dress for Success and SafeHouse Denver—are sharing the quote book with women in their programs. Dress for Success, which supports unemployed and underemployed women through no-cost development tools and professional attire, and SafeHouse Denver, dedicated to helping individuals escape domestic violence, are collaborating to bring these messages of allyship and solidarity to those who need them most.
As Steven Lamb thoughtfully expressed, “A quote may not solve immediate concerns, but it reminds us that we’re not alone. It offers allyship.”
This initiative reflects the power of collective creativity and compassion, proving that sometimes the smallest conversations can lead to the biggest impacts. ISDenver’s Women-Lifting-Up-Women project is not just a celebration of resilience—it’s a beacon of hope for women everywhere.
The book is meant to be shared. Please share this, and future volumes, with everyone who would enjoy and appreciate it.
