Ruijie (Rae) Guo Appointed Chinese Language Lead, August 2020
We are thrilled to announce the formal appointment of another respected ISDenver educator to the learning leadership team. Beginning in August, 2020, Ruijie (Rae) Guo will add the role of Chinese Language Lead for both ECE and Lower School.
Building on six years of teaching in our Chinese Program, Rae has now accepted the additional responsibility of Chinese Language Lead. This position is integral in leading the Chinese program faculty as they implement the newest version of Chinese national standards, administer the HSK (Chinese language proficiency exam), and collaborate with their peer faculty on horizontal and vertical curriculum alignment. Rae has already been serving as part of the collaborative team leading the Chinese program through the 2019-20 school year and has been instrumental in helping our leadership team understand the progression of writing in Chinese.
Rae joined ISDenver in 2013 after completing her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Denver. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in English Language and Literature with an emphasis on translation theory and practice from Sichuan International Studies University in Chongqing, China. Prior to teaching at ISDenver, Rae also taught Mandarin Chinese in Centennial, CO, and at a participating school of the Confucius Institute at Western Kentucky University.
Rae and her husband, Danny, are proud parents of Riley, a K1 Spanish program student. We are so very grateful to have talented and dedicated teachers like Rae to promote within our community. Please join me in congratulating her as the new Chinese Language Lead at ISDenver.
