Welcoming Dr. Anthony Perry as ISDenver’s Next Middle School Director
The ISDenver community is thrilled to welcome Dr. Anthony Perry as our incoming Middle School Director, beginning in the 2025–2026 school year. A seasoned educator, leader, and advocate for belonging, Anthony brings over 18 years of experience across diverse educational settings. His vision for middle school learning aligns seamlessly with ISDenver’s commitment to inquiry, inclusion, and global citizenship.
A Leader Rooted in Community
Throughout our search process, Anthony stood out as a leader who builds trust, fosters connection, and champions student growth. Whether mentoring faculty, facilitating student programs, or leading strategic initiatives, his work has consistently reinforced the power of inclusive, inquiry-driven environments where every individual feels seen and valued.
His most recent role as Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at The Lab School of Washington reflects his deep dedication to shaping schools that empower students. At ISDenver, his leadership will strengthen student life, faculty development, and instructional design—all grounded in our mission to cultivate thoughtful, capable, and compassionate young learners.
A Rich Background in Education
With a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature and Cultural Studies from Georgetown University, Anthony has worked in premiere schools across the country, leading innovative programs that advance student belonging and success. His expertise spans classroom instruction, curriculum design, and faculty mentorship, making him an exceptional addition to our leadership team.
Anthony previously coordinated THRIVE, a program supporting students and families historically underrepresented in independent schools, and developed Belonging Time, a schoolwide initiative promoting identity, empathy, and inclusion. His leadership has shaped equitable hiring practices, strengthened community partnerships, and improved student retention efforts, always placing authentic presence and relationships at the forefront.
A Vision for Middle School Learning
A lifelong educator and advocate, Anthony believes middle school is a transformative time for students to explore curiosity, embrace identity, and build lasting connections. His leadership is visible and relational, grounded in the belief that students and educators thrive through engagement, presence, and purpose. Whether greeting students at arrival, facilitating affinity groups, or collaborating with faculty, Anthony meets the ISDenver community with care and commitment.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and French, with proficiency in Portuguese, Italian, and Arabic, Anthony’s multilingual and globally minded approach strengthens his ability to lead in an international school setting. As a former International Baccalaureate (IB) student, he understands and deeply values the IB Middle Years Programme as a foundation for building thoughtful and empowered young learners.
