Roberto d'Erizans New Head Of School

We are excited to announce that Dr. Roberto d’Erizans has been  unanimously appointed as the next ISDenver Head of School, following a special meeting of the Search Committee and the Board of Directors. Dr. d’Erizans will begin his tenure on July 1, 2025.

ISDenver’s Head of School Bob Carignan announced to the community on May 7, 2024 that he will retire at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Bob has been with ISDenver since the Fall of 2017.

Bob’s tenure has been defined by substantial accomplishments that have emphasized our mission and moved our school forward, always with kids as his north star. Fittingly, kids are also the motivating reason that both he and his wife are retiring in June 2025. In his letter, Bob shared, “While we are still healthy (knock on wood), we look forward to spending more time together, not being on a school calendar, and traveling more. Most importantly to us, we want to spend more time with our children, which has always been the top priority in our lives.”

Bob has brought fresh ideas, initiatives, and a culture of unity to the International School of Denver during his tenure. Our school is in a position of strength and poised for continued growth and success, thanks to Bob’s leadership. Under his guidance and partnership, we’ve established our school as the premier education and community that leverages an International Baccalaureate curriculum framework, K1 - G8, best practices to language learning, all through a commitment to global citizenship, academic excellence, and whole-student and inclusive-community approaches. As Bob reflected, “This place is truly special and unique, with a richness and quality of education that is unparalleled.”

ISDenver Board Chair Kurt Pletcher voices our community’s deep appreciation for Bob leading us to our position of strength today. “We are confident that helming ISDenver will be an attractive opportunity for many academic leaders. Even as we interviewed consultants, they, like others who come to know our school, acknowledged how different we are from other Independent schools, how our mission will resonate with so many as to what the world needs now, how our language model will present a unique and exciting challenge, and how all of this is located in one of the most desirable places to live in the United States."

Please read below the full letters announcing the transition to the community from Bob and Kurt.

This site will serve as a resource as we move through this transition.
